  • Greek Sweet Fruit Preserve in Syrup, Fig, Net weight 950gr :

Fig is a tree that thrives mainly in temperate countries, such as the countries around the Mediterranean Sea and especially Greece. They are characterized by their great resilience to aridity and need plenty of sun to produce their delicious fruit. In our country, where weather conditions allow, figs have a rich flavour. Fresh figs are available for a limited period, at the end of the summer, but as dried or as spoon sweets, are a popular choice throughout the year.

Its nutritional value was recognized by ancient Greeks, centuries before the scientific community, as well as Olympic athletes were eating fresh and dried figs,  before the events.

The figs are the best plant source of calcium and fibre. The American Nutrition Society has determined that the fig is the richest fruit in fibre, vitamin K, copper, manganese, potassium, magnesium and calcium in relation to human daily needs.

Naturally, they contain many other nutrients, in smaller quantities. From these, those which are being distinguished are the antioxidants ingredients, and vitamin C. Figs are recommended for people with poor bowel function and for those with constipation problems.

We preserved this high nutritional value, with passion and love based on old traditional recipes from the beautiful island of Chios, in order to offer it to you as a unique spoon sweet. It is a delicious proposal for you and your family.

Keep it in a cool and dry place. Refrigerate after opening.
